The return of our Saturday Night Outdoor Movies is soon approaching! Briarcliff Trails of Our Community is proud to once again present these free outdoor for the whole family to enjoy! Movies are shown on Saturday nights during the summer at approx. 8:45 p.m./dusk at Charles A. Garney Park and Trails located across from The Village at Briarcliff. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners while we do the rest! Most of the movies we choose to show are under two hours. We do this so everyone feels comfortable sitting outside, and not out too late. Here are the movies and their respective dates for the 2019 season!

June 1: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
June 8: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
June 15: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 
July 13: The Incredibles 2
July 20: Coco

More than 50 families came together for a Community Build to construct a large new piece of playground equipment at Briarcliff Elementary. Briarcliff residents Jason and Katie Egli wanted to create a memorial for their son, Benjamin who passed away last summer. In partnership with the Briarcliff PTA and Briarcliff Trails of Our Community, this project developed that will touch the lives of so many kids and students of the Briarcliff community. Volunteers worked hard for almost five hours constructing the equipment, and spreading mulch around the new and existing part of the playground. Thank you so much to everyone who donated their time and energy to this heartwarming project. There will be a dedication ceremony this fall once the memorial plaque is in place to honor Benjamin.

On the north entrance of Phase 1, the storm drain tube was recently replaced to allow for better drainage through the creek. The entire area around the tube now looks great! Thank you to the KCMO Parks Department for a job well done!

Spring has officially arrived, which means it's time for the return of our Saturday Night Outdoor Movies! Briarcliff Trails of Our Community is proud to once again present these free outdoor for the whole family to enjoy! Movies are shown on Saturday nights during the summer at approx. 8:45 p.m./dusk at Mulberry Lake across from The Village at Briarcliff. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners while we do the rest! Last summer's lineup was a variety of movies including action-adventure like Rogue One: Star Wars, throwback classics like Top Gun and family favorites like Moana. Most of the movies we choose to show are under two hours. We do this so everyone feels comfortable sitting outside, and not out too late.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 24 to enjoy an exclusive live concert by the U.S. Air National Guard Band of the Midwest "Concert Band" Ensemble. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. at Mulberry Lake across from the Village at Briarcliff. The U.S. Air Force Band is a 45-piece big band with a diverse repertoire of traditional swing, bebop, modern jazz, vocal selections and patriotic songs honoring our nation's military branches. 

Don't forget to bring blankets, lawn chairs, beverages and picnic dinners to enjoy this FREE family-friendly concert celebrating our nation's freedom.

Enjoy a FREE showing of "Top Gun" (1986) PG at 8:45 p.m./dusk on Saturday, June 10 at Mulberry Lake across from The Village at Briarcliff. As students at the United States Navy's elite fighter weapons school compete to be best in the class, one daring young pilot learns a few things from a civilian instructor that are not taught in the classroom.

Last week we had our largest crowd in our entire history of Outdoor Movies Series at Briarcliff! Families enjoyed inflatables, a bouncy house, food truck, face painting, caricaturist and more! We can't show these movies without the support of our wonderful sponsors. We would like to thank Burleson Orthodontics, The Village at Briarcliff, Integrity IT Solutions and the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund. We're supposed to have perfect weather this weekend, which will make for a great movie night under the stars by the lake. As always, don't forget to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks!
