2014 was an exceptional year for our organization! We scheduled 11 movies to show during the summer and tried new advertising and marketing strategies. This resulted in our biggest attendance for the Air Force Band concert and our movies. There were many Saturday nights where we had crowds of 400 and 500+ people! Our Air Force Band concert went off without a hitch, as we were blessed with perfect weather and a crowd of 1,500+. We were very pleased so many people took advantage of those opportunities for a free and unique date night or family outing. It will be really hard to top our success of this last season, but it’s good motivation to keep improving.
Our goals for this year are to continue with our community events and public improvement projects. Specifically, we are working with the Missouri Conservation Department and to put identification tags on select trees along our trails. These will also be used as an education tool for Briarcliff Elementary. We would also like to develop a map of all the trails, parks and landmarks in Briarcliff. Of course, we are continuing our clean up of the entrance and exit ramps of Briarcliff Parkway and Hwy 169, as well as Briarcliff Parkway and the Briarcliff Nature Trail that we recently adopted.
We are excited for the new year, and will continue our commitment to help make our community the best in the Northland.
